Justin NewtonExecutive Vice President, Information TechnologyJustin is responsible for technology operations, including production, internal systems, network, security, software and database operations. He is a seasoned executive with more than 14 years of operating management experience in the Internet industry. Justin joins Demand Media from United Online/NetZero Inc., where he worked for nine years, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Voice & Broadband. While at United Online, he created a technology known as the Auto-Dialer, whereby client Internet connections are routed according to cost and quality of service. This has generated over $1 billion in telecom cost savings over the life of the product to date and improved the user experience, thereby decreasing NetZero’s churn rate. Previously, Justin was Senior Network Architect at AboveNet, where he designed the international expansion of the AboveNet network to Europe and Asia. He was also a Senior Network Architect at Priori Network, where he led the technology organization, creating its policies, procedures, standards and metrics. Justin also held senior technology positions at Erol’s Internet, MAI Networks, and Digital Gateway Systems. He is frequently quoted in the press and has been a featured speaker at leading industry events. |
