Joanne Bradford
Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer
Joanne Bradford serves as the Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for Demand Media. Joanne leads Demand Media’s marketing, sales and corporate communications efforts. Joanne is widely recognized for her abilities to build brand awareness, increase market share and drive revenue. In 2010, she was named to the Mediaweek 50, Adweek Media's annual list of the most influential people in media.
Prior to joining Demand Media, Joanne served as Senior Vice President at Yahoo! where she was responsible for North American revenue generation activities and also struck innovative branded entertainment partnerships. From 2001 to 2008, Joanne established herself as a new media trailblazer at Microsoft’s Internet Business unit, she was a Corporate Vice President where she helped grow online revenue to over $2 billion and including innovative services such as in-game advertising and self-serve search advertising platforms.
Joanne began her career at McGraw-Hill, where she was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at BusinessWeek Magazine. Under her watch they launched businesweek.com, ebiz magazine and a live events business.
While at Microsoft and McGraw-Hill, she received the Chairman’s Award from Bill Gates and The Management Excellence Award, respectively.
Joanne currently serves on the boards of the Ad Council and CARE. She is also an advisor to Greycroft Partners and she previously served on the board of the IAB. Joanne has a BA in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising from San Diego State University.
