Gaurav is a managing director at Goldman Sachs, and his responsibilities include the private-equity portfolio within Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies, a multi-billion-dollar proprietary investing arm. His group invests heavily in the media and telecom space, including film studios and financial, casual and MMO games, online media, and wireline and wireless infrastructure.

Gaurav joined Goldman Sachs in 1990. Prior to his current position, he served as a quantitative strategist, investment banker in the financial institutions and natural resource groups and, most recently, private equity investor.

Gaurav currently serves on the Boards of the Weinstein Company and Media Rights Capital. He is a graduate of Columbia University, where he earned a BS in Computer Science.
