The Evolution of LIVESTRONG.COM
Did you happen to notice a little something different about LIVESTRONG.COM today? The entire LIVESTRONG.COM team has been hard at work on this next evolution of our site, content and tools, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share the end result with all of you. Starting today, when you go to LIVESTRONG.COM, you’ll see a fresh, new look tailored to meet the needs and tastes of both men and women. This gender-specific evolution of the LIVESTRONG.COM experience is the result of some compelling insights we unearthed from our latest user survey, as well as patterns that have emerged from our site usage data over time. Not only are there new content destinations created specifically for men and women, there are also newly-designed newsletters for both, as well as updated personalization tools to help men and women reach specific goals -- like shaping up after having a baby, building muscle, training for a marathon or toning up for a wedding. While men and women often share similar health goals, such as quitting smoking or toning muscle (in fact, both genders listed “walking” as their favorite fitness activity – we didn’t see that coming), how they go about achieving their goals are often very different. For example, we found that 74% more men are more likely to read articles on topics such as Benefits of Rest Days for Body Builders, and 105% more women are likely to read Weekly Diet Plans for Trying to Lose Weight. What we learned about men is that they tend to look for efficient and quick solutions for diet and fitness while women are interested in solutions that include planning and making improvements over time. By paying attention to these kinds of signals and insights from our LIVESTRONG.COM community, it’s clear to us that men and women have different approaches to their health, fitness and nutrition goals and interests. LIVESTRONG.COM’s site enhancements for men and women ensures that all of our members have the content that is most relevant to them at the forefront, allowing them to get the most from the site every time they visit. Better still, these site enhancements deliver on the new LIVESTRONG.COM Promise to inspire and empower people to live their best lives.
