Thanks for Having Us Along for the Ride
Even after four years at Demand Media, I continue to be impressed by the creative talents in our content studio, and pieces like this, this and this are just a few of the cool things our Demand Media Studios freelancers have been working on recently. But recently, a very cool tweet from one of our freelance writers also caught my eye.
 I’d like to personally congratulate Josh on his sweet new ride, and thank him for sharing the great news. I’m humbled and extremely happy that we could help him reach that goal. Josh is a big part of what makes Demand Media Studios work – not only is he a talented writer on our O&O properties and USA Today, but he’s also an active member of our studio community. In fact, earlier this summer, he wrote a guest post for our studio blog, recommending his favorite time-saving apps for freelancers. So when Josh’s fellow community members heard about his new car, they cheered him on and then shared their own stories about how they use their earnings from Demand Media Studios. And while not all of them earn enough to buy sports coupes, it’s great to see some of the many ways we’re helping make a financial difference in their lives. “I'm going to Fiji next month with my DS $$!!” – Bella T. “I am sending my daughter to a private prep school with my DS money, with dollars to spare!” – Heidi B. “My income is totally adjustable. For example, this summer I worked extra and made enough money with Demand to throw my sister an awesome baby shower last month!” – Kathy B." “I use the money I make at DMS to pay bills, remodel my house and do things with my kids. Currently, DMS money has paid for new wood flooring, paint for every room, a new central heating system and a new fence. Working on remodeling the bathroom right now. Thanks DMS!” – Casey H. “Working for DS has enabled me to stay at home with my new baby!” – Jessica S. “I got to spend the month of July in France following the Tour de France with my DS money.” – Fitzalan G. It’s incredibly fulfilling for us to read stories like these, and we’re glad to hear that so many of our writers are using their work with Demand Media Studios to help them reach their personal goals, enjoy their favorite activities, or spend more time with their families. And as for Josh, I’m sure he’s already having plenty of fun with his new car. After all, one of the great things about writing for Demand Media Studios is he probably uses it for something better than the daily commute.
