Our Pluck product powers billions of social interactions each month, helping build vibrant communities for people who want to come together and share their passions online. And because few things inspire as much passion as the world of sports, we’ve played an integral role in setting up remarkable social media solutions for some of the sports world’s all-star brands, like NFL.com, and “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys.
So with basketball season tipping off, we laced up our old Air Jordans and teamed with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls to launch their new official online fan community site, BullsConnect.com. The site, which went live on October 29, enables fans to connect with other members and interact around the topic of their favorite team.
BullsConnect showcases many of Pluck’s winning social media features, allowing users to create a free profile, upload and share photos and videos, write their own Bulls-themed blogs, and carry on conversations with other fans. With our Persona application, members can view personal site profiles that capture their recent activity, send and receive messages, and catalog their membership in BullsConnect groups. Groups tools lets users create and join their own new micro-communities, including groups supporting the Luvabulls (the Bulls dance team) and Benny the Bull (the team mascot). Plus, social bridging features allow fans to connect to their Facebook and Twitter accounts to broadcast their own content on those other sites and drive traffic back to the BullsConnect community. The site also provides the opportunity for creative co-branded interactions like the monthly “Harris Ultimate Fan” video contest.
Working with Demand Media, the Bulls were able to take the site from concept to reality in less than a month, leveraging the strengths of both our Pluck social media platform and our enom hosting services. Through ongoing improvements and iterations, we'll continue to work with the Bulls to ensure that BullsConnect makes the highlights reel this NBA season. And we'll be more than happy to lead the league in assists.
