Good News from Across the Business

Can't let the day end without shout outs to some great news from across different parts of our business:

More Love for Google-YouTube:  Today Demand Media officially became a YouTube case study.  I know that Steven has been blogging about our content strategy and recently laid out our great relationship with YouTube, but I just have to get in a little of my own bragging rights.  I’ve gotten to know Chad Hurley over the last couple years – he recently joined me as a guest at our UCLA class – and he is a great leader and a very smart guy.  Chad and his team have really made working with YouTube a true pleasure as well as a success.

LIVESTRONG.COM on Fire:  In the wake of Lance’s accident, we are proud to be hosting exclusive video from Lance following his surgery.  It is having this kind of personal access to him that has helped to really define the Web site and feed its success to date.  The team told me today that the LIVESTRONG.COM members have, as of today, burned over TWO BILLION calories!!!!  Just amazing.  We have thousands of members who are tracking what they eat and how much they exercise and when we just did the math on the exercise part we couldn’t believe the number.  

Enterprise Business is Booming:  We have stayed incredibly conservative in our expectations of this business, as we see the economy impacting both hardware and software sales.  But our Pluck business just can’t be beat with new account wins and go lives.  Coming on the heels of one of our first bi-lingual implementations on Batanga.com, we are really seeing the excitement from key brands that are coming on board on top of our healthy renewals.   And we hope to share more great stats and customers publicly in the weeks ahead.
