eHow Brings the Mother’s Day Conversation to Twitter
Mother’s Day is Sunday, and to kick the celebration off early we invited over 100 amazing “Mommy” bloggers to chat live with the eHow editorial team during the “My Mother’s Day Wish” Twittersation on Wednesday. This fun and engaging activity is one of the many ways we’re listening to consumers and making connections to learn first-hand what they want – which helps us bring them online content and experiences to help them live better lives. And in terms of Moms, 15.4MM of them visit our sites in a month (comScore MediaMetrix, U.S. March 2011). We were privileged to be joined by long-time loyal visitors as well as Moms who are new to eHow. Several hours and 883 tweets later, we learned a lot about these moms and had a lot of fun along the way. So what do these amazing women wish for this Mother’s Day? Chocolate, sleep, bacon and yes, even Brad Pitt. As a mother of two, I think they are on to something. Here are a few of our favorite posts: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And here’s a visual snapshot of the content of the Twittersation (courtesy of Wordle.net): It’s this and other kinds of listening that we think are essential to creating content and experiences that improve people’s lives. Whether they want to find out about indulging in bacon, increasing sleep or decreasing whining, we’re continually aiming to be at the ready with online media that addresses those specific needs and wants. Personally, this Mother’s Day I’d love a trip to the south of France (with or without Brad Pitt) - just be sure to send me with plenty of bacon and chocolate! We’re thankful for eHow’s many visitors, followers and fans; this was a fun, rewarding and insightful experience for all those who participated, including our editorial and social teams. To my fellow moms out there, we wish you a very Happy Mother’s Day this weekend!
