Come See Us at SXSW
 This weekend we’ll be welcoming many of you to Austin for this year’s SXSW Interactive, where Demand Media will be among the many Internet and emerging technology companies converging to exchange handshakes and ideas. Here are some of the places we’ll be, so please come find us:Cracked Live, Saturday, March 12, 5-8pm, West Tent at Brush Square Park One of the great things about SXSW is that it embraces experimentation and innovation across media, and with that in mind, we’re bringing one of our popular online video series to the live stage for the first time. As part of our Cracked Live event on Saturday evening, the entire cast of Cracked’s original series “After Hours” will perform live sketches, musical numbers and standup routines created especially for the event. Aside from being a lot of fun, this event is a great opportunity for us to connect with local members of Cracked’s creator community, who pitch  story ideas and work with our editors to produce the humorous articles and videos that have helped Cracked become one of the top-ranked comedy sites on the Internet.If you haven’t had your fill of hilarious comedy, the Cracked team will also participate in Tuesday night’s SXSW Interactive Awards, where it will sponsor the Amusement award for “humor, memes, games, interesting destinations and all the stuff that is weird for the sake of weird,” and present a special video at the ceremony. SXSW Trade Show, Monday, March 14-Thursday, March 17, 11am-6pm, Austin Convention Center, Booths 501, 503, 600 & 602 We’ll also be scouting more emerging on-air talent for our Talent & Expert Network at the SXSW Trade Show. We’re focused on discovering fresh new voices and working with them to develop high quality, original programming for our popular websites like eHow, LIVESTRONG.COM and our soon-to-be-launched fashion and beauty site typeF.com. So if you think you’re the next Rachael Ray, Tyra Banks or Lance Armstrong, stop by our booth for a screen test. We’re also looking for talented new filmmakers, and we’ll have several Demand Media Studios filmmakers on hand to answer all your questions about what it’s like working with our studios. And because nearly 200  of our employees call Austin home, we’re honored to be your unofficial tour guides to the city we love. While you’re in town, be sure to spend some time on South Congress (just a stone’s throw from our office), pop into the Continental Club for some great live music, or try out the stand up paddle boards on the lake. Then, when hunger strikes, here are a few of our favorites:Güero’s, 1412 South Congress Ave. Polvos, 2004 South 1st St. Curra’s Grill, 614 East Oltorf St. Swing by any of these famous Austin establishments for a taste of the city’s unique brand of Tex-Mex and killer margaritas. Try one of your dishes with queso and you’ll immediately wonder why you can’t find any in your own town. Lamberts, 401 West 2nd St. Iron Works BBQ, 100 Red River The Salt Lick, 18300 FM 1826, Driftwood Finally, before you leave town, indulge in some of our world famous barbeque with a stop at Lambert’s or Iron Works in town, or a quick roadtrip to nearby Driftwood for a pilgrimage to The Salt Lick (and don’t forget to bring cash and a BYOB cooler of your choice!). We’ve participated in SXSW for the past six years, but we’re more excited than ever for this year’s event. We think it will be the most entertaining one yet, and we’re looking forward to seeing you.
