Bright as a Button
Beginning today, our popular websites eHow.com, LIVESTRONG.COM and Cracked became some of the first online destinations to feature Twitter’s new “Tweet Button.” One of our key goals at Demand Media is to make our content as relevant and useful as possible. Part of that mission involves making it easy for people to share the Demand Media-generated content they love with their friends and family, and Twitter is terrific for sharing our articles and videos instantly. The new Tweet Button makes it simpler than ever for web users to share our great content directly from the page they’re on, removing the need for copying and pasting, link shortening, or opening new browser tabs. ![]() Many of our properties already have large and growing followings on Twitter – check out @Cracked or @LIVESTRONG_COM to see what I mean – and we think that integrating the new Tweet Button on our network of sites will introduce these great brands to even more Twitter users. Beyond merely following us on Twitter, we hope those new fans will also visit our websites and contribute their own knowledge and passion to the engaging online communities we’ve been building there for years. We’re honored that eHow, LIVESTRONG.COM and Cracked were among the select few websites chosen as launch partners for Twitter’s Tweet Button, just like we were proud to have LIVESTRONG.COM featured in Facebook’s recent “Facebook Stories” campaign. Our product teams worked closely with Twitter to integrate the new Tweet Buttons quickly, and we’re excited about exploring new ways for users to discover content on the Internet. Whether it’s search engines like Google, real-time platforms like Twitter, location-centric tools like foursquare or mobile devices like the iPad and iPhone, we’re all working together to build a world where great content can be discovered and shared, anytime and anywhere on any device.
