As Executive Vice President of Media, Stewart leads the Company’s International and Mobile initiatives and oversees the Cracked.com and LIVESTRONG.com properties. Stewart brings his extensive experience with technology start-ups and mobile to Demand Media, which he joined in 2006 as General Manager of Entertainment. From 2006 to 2007, Stewart ran Demand Media’s entertainment properties and oversaw the acquisition of Cracked.com. From late 2007 through the end of 2011, Stewart launched and led the Demand Media Studios content creation platform, which is an integral driver of Demand Media’s ecosystem, and contributed to the company’s successful IPO in January 2011.
Prior to joining Demand Media, Stewart worked as General Counsel for Pulse Mobile, a SMS to MMS application provider based in San Francisco, where he was responsible for all legal aspects of the Company including technology licensing, capital structure and fundraising. Prior to Pulse Mobile, Stewart worked at several start-ups in San Francisco in numerous business development and legal capacities.
Stewart graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Business Administration, and later received a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he graduated as a member of USF’s Law Review, and received an externship with the United States District Court, District of Nevada, Chief Judge Howard D. McKibben. Stewart remains an active member of the California Bar.
